Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak has signed a lucrative eight-year, $90 million contract extension, making him one of the highest-paid players in the National Hockey League. The deal, which was announced on Tuesday, is the sixth-largest in NHL history.
The 26-year-old Czech Republic native has emerged as one of the league's top goal-scorers since joining the Bruins in 2014. In the 2021-22 season, Pastrnak set career highs with 40 goals and 36 assists, helping the Bruins secure the Atlantic Division title.
Pastrnak's impressive form continued in the current campaign, as he recently eclipsed the 50-goal mark for the second time in his career. His 51 goals this season rank second in the NHL, behind only Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid.
